Community Reserves

Panniwala-Gumjal-Haripura-Diwankhera Community Reserve

This Community Reserve is situated in Fazilka and is spread over 16861 acres (3996 acres of village Panniwala Mahla, 3762 acres of village Gumjal, 3414 acres of village Haripura and 5689 acres of village Diwankhera) of  land. This area was declared as Community Reserve vide Notification No. 34/4/2015/Ft- 5/448962/1 dated 27.3.2015 under Section 36-C of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Main wildlife species found in the Community Reserve are Black buck and Blue bull. As per forest classification, the Reserve falls under the Arid to semi-arid type. The main tree species are A. tortilis, Albizia lebbeck, Azadirachata indica, Dalbergia sissoo, Melia azedarach, Prosopis cineraria and P. juliflora etc .
